Yeah, the pundits were outraged for about a couple of days. The Air America voices were mad for a few hours, and others even longer. With the exception of Randi Rhodes, she was an appologist from the start. As was Ben M. of the Young Turks. And yes! I get it! They didn't have the fucking votes!

The problem is, overriding a veto was not the only option.
I have yet to have anyone explain the detriment to cutting funding for the war. With no cash, the troops have to come home. Wesley Clark Jr. was one of several military men I have heard agree with this suggestion.
Our troops will not be left stranded in the Iraqi desert with no ride home. They will not have to throw bullets at the "enemy" because the guns have been reposessed. They will not be begging Blackwater mercenaries for spare change.
And if the are, it will be because the President did not redeploy them in a timely manner.
No, our troops were not saved from abandonment by politicians who understand the ways of compromise. They were left to continue to die and have limbs blown off because powerful Democrats were afraid of being called "wimps" in an election season that is more than a year away. Shit. What a bunch of pussies.
And now Bush has called for the Korea model for Iraq, and has reignited the Cold War with Russia. Way to reign this President in guys! God, I hope there is a slate of Green candidates this fall.
